‘Game of Peace’ Festival on the occasion of World Peace Day

Stemming from the role of debate in the promotion of concept of dialogue, and the importance of creating peaceful and dialogue-based societies in which nobody is marginalized in order to achieve sustainable development. Supported by The United Nations Population Fund, Nour Foundation For Relief and Development established “Game of Peace” Festival on the occasion of World Peace Day. The Festival aimed at ]encouraging young people to think and create, and introducing them to ways of expression that enable them to voice their opinions on their issues and forming new ideas that help inculcate change their societies.
The festival included three main stages, the first and second ones included debate training for a group of young people from different associations, organizations, institutions and initiatives that work in community development.
The third and final stage was concluded by a competition among teams that were trained through debate on different social and human issues. This competition took place in Action Project – Abu Rumaneh.
“These courses and competitions have broadened our perceptions and given us a sense of strength. We were able to criticize an idea and defend it at the same time which was a big challenge.” said Yasmin Al-Assi, a participant at the festival.
The Youth Support Project provides its youth-related activities and initiatives with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
