“We need more laws to protect us, grant us our rights, and empower us against any violence we face. Every woman should be aware of her legal rights ” remarked a participant at Alhuseineah Center.
Women human rights defenders strive to achieve justice and sustainable development for all, fostering more inclusive and equitable societies.
From the legal workshops conducted by the teams of “Nour Foundation” centers in Slim, Salkhad, Nabaa Al-Sakher, Jubata Al-Khashab, al-Yarmouk Camp, Baba Amr, Debsi Afnan in Raqqa, and Alhuseineah, during the International Women Human Rights Defenders Day within the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign. The workshops were conducted in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund and involved participation from lawyers affiliated with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the Syrian Trust for Development.
The workshops covered various topics, including extortion and electronic harassment, Syrian law and dowry, child custody, and also included the screening of a film addressing honor crimes.
