The Role of Modern Parenting in Reducing Violence Against Women – Awareness-Raising Session – Nour WGSS – Najha
The mobile team of Nour WGSS in Al Hussainieh held an awareness-raising session on the role of modern parenting in reducing violence against women in the town of Najha.
The team explained that the goal of modern parenting is to prepare children to be active members in the society, to educate children on how to overcome challenges, to diminish violence against women and thereby to reduce social problems.
Facilitator, Rahaf Al Shafi, said, ” We tried our best to highlight the erroneous ways parents use to discipline their children and how these ways result in future dilemmas. By doing so, we were able to show parents how to effectively and positively discipline their children into refined citizens.”
One of the ladies who attended the session said, ” Modern parenting techniques sound so easy in the beginning, but in reality they are so hard to apply especially in today’s tech-savvy world. That is why parents should be really careful when dealing with their kids in order to raise healthy happy kids.”
The mobile team of Nour WGSS in Al hussainieh is funded by the UNFPA and targets areas around Al Hussainieh like Najha and Al Sayedeh Zainab.
