An experiment to carry children from the earthly world into the world of space
Nour Foundation For Relief and Development – Bidaya Project In cooperation with Syrian Astronomical Society, Bidaya Center for Developmental Activities in Nour Foundation has organized an “astronomical observation session”, which provided an opportunity for children to use the telescope, monitor the sky and learn about astronomy and space.
The session included explanations and information on space and planets and the use of telescope which was carried out under clear sky and in a pleasant atmosphere.
“We are pleased to work with Nour Foundation for its constructive initiatives and activities for children”, said Dr. Mohammed Al Osairy, president of the Syrian Astronomical Society. A father of one of the beneficiaries (Naser) said that he encourages such initiatives as steps to inspire a new generation of scientists because they broaden the children’s horizons and open their vision.
Moreover, Hakim (a 10year old child) thanked Nour Foundation for helping him achieve his dream of knowing everything about astronomy, either through this initiative or other similar ones.
It is worth mentioning that this was not the first cooperation between Nour Foundation and the Syrian Astronomical Society which has recently entered the International Federation of Astronomy.
