Parliament Member Mr. Ahmad Merhi visits NFRD

The Parliament Member,  Mr. Ahmad Merhi, was a guest at the main office of Nour Foundation for Relief and Development  in Mazzeh area of Damascus, and he met with its chairman of board Mr. Muhammad Jalbout.
During the meeting, several ideas and proposals were discussed, including valorization of the oral memory of the people of the occupied Syrian Arab Golan, the revival of the folklore in the Golan area, and the importance of illuminating and preserving the rich and ancient cultural heritage of the Levant.
Mr. Muhammad Jalbout, also reviewed the Foundation’s activities and briefed Mr. Merhi on the work of the Foundation and its projects in the fields of supporting youth, children and women, and raising awareness on gender-based violence, in addition to the various campaigns it carries out.
Mr. Jalbout also talked about the Foundation’s vision and mission in empowering individuals and families of the Syrian local communities by focusing on the most vulnerable in social, educational, cultural, health and environmental aspects.
In turn, Mr. Merhi praised the work of the Foundation, expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by its staff with a view to building societal capabilities in various aspects of life, by adopting the approach of sustainable integrated development.
Mr. Merhi and Mr. Jalbout agreed on several ideas, including conducting workshops focusing on the rights of women and children, in addition to workshops on personal projects.
At the end of the meeting Mr. Jalbout presented Mr. Merhi with an embroidered painting made by one of Nour’s Centers as a commemorative gift.
